National Carers Strategy – If you’re an unpaid carer, your views are needed!

MPs and Peers are asking for your views on their proposal for our current UK Government to develop a National Carers Strategy.

The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Carers, feel that developing a new National Carers Strategy would help to improve the health and wellbeing, finances, and support that’s needed by the millions of unpaid carers across the UK.

We are long overdue a review of, or new National Carers Strategy, as this is no longer fit for purpose and doesn’t reflect the current needs of those providing care for their loved ones, family members or those who are vulnerable.

The existing National Carers Strategy was published in 2008, and the associated Carers Action Plan came to an end in 2020. Sinc then, we’ve seen an increase in carers, and we’re still experiencing the long term impact of the Covid ’19 pandemic and cost of living crisis.
