Mending The Gap

We’re proud of the partnerships that we’ve developed since our launch in 2013. Working in collaboration with other organisations to advance the rights of carers enables us to amplify carer voices.

In 2022, Mending the Gap contributed to the launch of the We Care, You Care – Working Carers Report. The report looks at the unmet needs of working carers and how paid carer’s leave could be the determining factor that keeps carers cared for and employees performing in their role. Importantly, it also looks at the impact paid carer’s leave can have on the emotional, physical and financial well-being of working carers. Bringing together research and conversations with carers and employers, it provides a compelling narrative that asks employers to consider implementing inclusive paid leave that explicitly includes working carers.
